The Feather Project is bringing youth voices to Rio + 20!
From June 20 – 22, 2012, the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (commonly referred to as the Rio + 20 summit) will take place in Rio de Janeiro. The meeting will mark 20 years since the seminal Earth Summit of 1992, and provides a historic chance for leaders to set the foundations for creating a sustainable future for our children and children’s children.
Civil society organizations from around the world have started to prepare their inputs for the summit that is expected to address major topics on our road towards a sustainable future, including the much needed transition to a green economy, the institutional framework for sustainable development, as well as the most urgent global challenges we are facing such as climate change and the rising water-related problems that are affecting growing parts of the world population.
The Feather Project has joined the Road to Rio + 20 Campaign organized by Peace Child International and is capturing the messages of young people to this historic gathering.
