IAAI Objective, Provided Courtesy of the Systemic innovation regarding Resource Mobilization of Global Civil Society for Effective Global Governance in Support of the United Nations System The Global Challenges Song World Cup aims to promotes intercultural and global citizenship by means of the real global language—music. The view on common global challenges and the challenges of the future articulated by means of the universal language "music" can facilitate intercultural dialogue, bring musicians and young people from around the world in contact, strengthen global citizenship identity layers and thus narrow interethnic and interreligious conflict potentials. Global civil society has enormous financial and intellectual resources as well as passion which can be harnessed to address global challenges more effectively. Musicians have a special sensorium for the spirit of time and the capability to articulate the feelings and the hopes of the people around the world through a universal language of music. Music opens a direct link between the hearts and minds of the people all around the world thus building ties for a global community which is more committed and capable to address global challenges effectively. Global Challenges One Song World Cup will explore in this respect new ways of how intercultural dialogue or dialogue among civilizations respectively can be used to support work of the UN system by developing—based on a dialogue among civilizations on global challenges —a global identity and also community in which joint efforts towards global challenges and, for example, joint commitment towards global climate change action are emphasized more strongly than religious, linguistic, national, and ethnic cleavages. About Dadi Janki, Provided courtesy of the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University website: Dadi Janki Administrative Head -- Brahma Kumaris As Administrative Head of the Brahma Kumaris, Dadi Janki provides a working leadership model for all women and men who are seeking to integrate both male and female qualities into their personal and professional lives. Dadi Janki lovingly engages people of all faiths and walks of life to be true to their spiritual self; to undertake their unique and individual part in the play of creating a future world worthy of the generations to come. In short, Dadi Janki calls us all to our potential. Here is a transcript of her statement: Translation Om Shanti. This is a wonderful thing that the young people of today have an incredible amount of energy. If they were to also transform that energy then that spiritual energy would have an impact on their attitude. I believe that the vibrations emitted from that attitude would create a very powerful atmosphere for world transformation to happen. Every human being has three things: they have a heart, they have a head, and they have hands. If the heart is clean and the heart is clear then the hands are able to do their work well. And so first, what do I have to do? I have to recognize and understand three things: One, the finger that points inside, to the deep understanding of "who am I?" and then, the finger that points upwards, and asks the question "who do I belong to?" -- To the one up above. Then I come out and realize what it is that I have to do in this world today. And so what do we do when we want to look after the human physical body? We give it good excercises, rest, good food, And we have good company. On this basis we are able to create projects and move forward together with that seed enthusiasm and cooperation. And so the food inside, is the food of pure thoughts. And through these good thoughts, a lot of good energy is created. And along with the nourishment having pure thoughts also is an exercise naturally both inwards and upwards. When we create pure thoughts like this we do not waste our time, energy or resources. It is actually through pure thoughts that we create more energy. It is easy: By keeping constant attention we can remain tension free. and you will never experience depression, you will never feel restless or tired - this tiredness finishes our zeal and enthusiasm. Do not get tired. So through that connection between the soul and the Supreme Soul we draw spiritual energy and that energy enables us to interact on the basis of love, cooperation and happiness. Okay, let us have a moment - a few seconds of silence together. Om shanti! <![CDATA[Feather Wisdom: Earth Child Institute Executive Director Donna Goodman]]> Featuring the Executive Director of the Earth Child Institute Donna Goodman. About the Earth Child Institute: The Earth Child Institute is programmatic hub dedicated to the 'children and environment' of our world. This broad scope is based on the premise that any action taken to protect and restore the environment will benefit today's children and future generations... and that children and young people who recognize the interconnectedness of all things and feel empowered in their own ability to think and act in harmony with the Earth will benefit the environment. A win-win scenario... empowering today for a sustainable tomorrow. It is a 'hub' because we build bridges and bonds between and across sectors, structures, countries, programmes, projects and levels of awareness toward the inclusion and empowerment of today's children and young people. Whether you are a Government minister seeking to ensure that the rights, needs and capabilities of children are reflected in your National Adapation Plan for Action (NAPA) to address climate change; a UN agency seeking to support the participation of children in an intergovernmental event or process; a private sector organization seeking a win-win scenario for corporate social responsibility which will improve the lives of children; an NGO wanting to network with other 'like-minded' NGOs to share best practices and lessons learned; a classroom teacher or youth facilitator looking for participatory resource materials; or a 12 year old girl or boy looking for ways to get involved... the Earthchild Institute is ready to meet your needs. While the earth has already warmed one degree, there is possibility that the earth's temperature has the potential to rise another six degrees in response to the amount of CO2 circulating in the atmosphere. It is absolutely urgent that the amount of CO2 be reduced to 350 PPM—parts per million. Before it is too late, now is the time to take action for all life on the planet. Project" of Loesje International. More information can be found at http://www.loesje.org/page/3666 The following information is provided by the Loesje website: Loesje is simultaneously a world wide collective of people who want to make the world a more positive creative place; and a girl from the Netherlands. The local Loesje groups write and spread posters signed by the girl Loesje, with texts about everything that happens in society. Loesje texts are mostly positive and funny, and at the same time critical, wanting to stimulate the viewers to see things from new perspectives, and take action in their own lives. Loesje texts are not trying to tell you what to think; instead they often invite to many different interpretations. Anyone is welcome to join making the posters in text writing workshops, and to join other creative activities and projects. The posters are published here on the Internet, where anyone can freely download them, print them and hang them up. Most of the people in Loesje are young, but there are no age limits. You don't have to subscribe to any particular opinions to join Loesje, but the activities are based on a humanistic value base, which means believing in the power of and solidarity between people, and refrain from social exclusion. Loesje was founded in 1983 and since 1994 the foundation Loesje International exists. This website is run by the international foundation, and all Loesje groups are welcome to publish their material there.
